I have finally gotten around to having time to even look at the images I was able to take at the Inspired workshop this summer. I had the most amazing time with Angie McCabe of Myrtle and Moss Photography. Angie has long been a source of inspiration for me, not only is her newborn work impeccable, but her work with couples is beyond amazing. I'll be honest and say that I decided to sign up for the workshop, just to work on my newborn photography, as I had decided that newborns are what I love and what I want to specialize in. However, when I left the workshop, I had been forever changed. Not only is my passion for working with newborns just as strong or stronger than ever, but I have a new found love of working with couples. Watching Angie work her magic with couples has inspired me to look at things with new eyes, through a new lens, from a different perspective than before. I have never been drawn in to images where people stand and look at the camera and smile, it has never made me feel anything. But watching Angie shoot to tell a story with her images, seeing how images produced with this mindset has made me feel something when looking at images again. I have learned that I want to be a story teller, that I want people to feel things when they look at their images, I want clients to remember what they felt in that exact moment when the photo was taken. I have come away from her workshop a brand new photographer with a new found love for shooting couples, expecting couples, engaged couples, freshly married couples.... I want to shoot them all! Thank you Angie for sharing your talent with me.
The following images were taken at the workshop, styled and posed by Myrtle and Moss Photography, shot and edited by me.
