QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

How do I secure my date?

Once you are ready to grab your date, I will send you a proposal where you can choose your package (can always upgrade later), sign a contract, and pay the non refundable retainer of 50% of the total package price. Our preferred method of payment is EMT.

Do you travel?

Yes!! The reason I picked up a camera in the first place was to take amazing travel photos! I would love to come along on whatever adventure you are planning!

I am happy to travel to destinations near and far to capture your day of love. Within driving distance? Venues within 100km of Kitchener are included free of charge, beyond that there is surcharge for additional mileage.

What's your style?

During the day I aim to capture all the little in-between moments that are going on, but I do also spend time on posed portraits. My portraits are loosely posed, where I will direct my couples into positions and give them prompts to create beautiful, raw expressions. I aim to create emotive portraits with a focus on connection, that invite the viewer to share in what the couple is experiencing in that moment. We take a couple of look at the camera and smile photos for grandparents and parents walls, but that's not really what I'm all about. I'm all about photos with the feels! If you are also all about the feels then we may be a good match!

Can we get a discount if we skip an engagement session?

Engagement sessions are included in all packages as my complimentary wedding gift to the couple, there is no cash value and can't be substituted for anything else. Since my style is about connecting emotionally with each other, it is also important that as clients and photographer we are able to connect and get to know each other as well, and to do that we need to spend some time together. Also, engagement sessions are amazing and fun and everyone should get to experience one!

How long does each part of the wedding day typically take? How do I choose a package?

Not to worry you can always upgrade your package at a later date when you are finalizing your timeline. Every wedding is different, depending on size, and locations.

Getting ready photos: 2 hours +
Decor and detail shots: 30-60 mins
Family and group shots: 30 - 60 mins
Wedding party photos: 30+
Newlywed photo session: 45-90 mins
Ceremony - 30 min +
Dinner and speeches - 120 mins +

Do you have insurance?

I most certainly do, I have liability insurance and my property and equipment are also covered.

Do you provide the raw files?

Packages do not include the unedited and RAW images in accordance with industry practice. The RAW files are just that, the raw ingredient in what makes up your final image and are unusable unless you have professional photography or graphic designer software.

How long after our wedding will I receive our photos?

All editing is done in-house, to high standards, and in order of wedding date. The turnaround time of your photographs very much depends on what month your wedding is. If your wedding is at the end of the year the wait is about 3 months. As we totally understand the anticipation can be overwhelming, we will have a sneak peek within two weeks of your wedding day.

What happens if it rains on my wedding day?

I highly recommend having a back up plan in the event of rain. Ideally if you have a back up plan, you won't need it!

I suggest getting two cute umbrellas, and plain black umbrellas from the dollar store for the bridal party. Leather or jean jackets can be helpful as well!

I also recommend looking into possible locations you can shoot indoors (for your couple photos) - greenhouses are great options, public libraries, museums etc. If it is calling for rain the week of your wedding then you can call around to a few places to get permission before showing up!

Another suggestion... roll with it! Rain can make for awesome photos as well!

I don't need 7 hours of coverage? Is there another option?

For weekday and Sunday wedding dates, weddings can be booked with hourly coverage with a 2 hour minimum.

Hourly rate is $350 plus HST/ hour and does not include an engagement session.
